Nestled high above Kelowna in British Columbia's Okanagan Valley, Myra Canyon is a must-see for outdoor enthusiasts, history buffs, and nature lovers alike. And what better way to experience it than on an eBike?

Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or someone who hasn't been on a bike in years, an eBike lets you effortlessly cruise along one of the most scenic stretches of the historic Kettle Valley Rail Trail (KVR). Here's everything you need to know to plan your adventure.

What Makes Myra Canyon So Special?

The Myra Canyon section of the KVR is renowned for its:

  • 18 historic wooden trestle bridges
  • 2 tunnels carved into canyon rock
  • Breathtaking cliffside views of Okanagan Lake and the valley
  • Flat, gravel-packed trail that's perfect for all skill levels
Originally part of a railway that linked the Okanagan to the Kootenays, this route has been transformed into one of Canada's most scenic cycling trails.

Why Ride an eBike on the KVR?

Riding an eBike adds freedom and comfort to your adventure:

  • Assist when you need it: Conquer gentle inclines or windy stretches with ease
  • Explore more: Travel further without tiring out
  • Ideal for groups: Mixed abilities? No problem—everyone can keep up
For many visitors, eBikes turn a 2-hour effort into a joyful, scenic cruise.

Most riders begin at the Myra Station parking lot, where trail access is easiest. From there, the route offers:

  • 12 km of canyon-edge riding (one way)
  • Multiple photo stops at trestles and tunnels
  • Picnic areas and benches for a scenic break
  • Outhouse Toilet along the route
Round-trip distance: Approximately 24 km

Estimated time: 2.5 to 3 hours at a relaxed pace (including stops)

What to Bring While Riding on the KVR

  • Water & snacks. This is the perfect trip to bring a lunch and enjoy the views!
  • Camera or phone for photos - trust us, you will be taking LOTS of selfies off the trestles
  • Sunscreen & sunglasses (there's little shade!)
  • Layered clothing (weather can shift quickly at elevation)
  • A Ride Through History and Nature

As you pedal across trestles built more than a century ago and glide through tunnels that once echoed with steam engines, it's easy to feel the deep connection between past and present. Riding the Kettle Valley Rail Trail by eBike is more than a sightseeing tour—it's an immersive journey into the Okanagan's wild beauty and rich heritage.
